Surprisingly.

And I am tired of finding about artists when they've been broken up for ten plus years.

Suggest me some music. I am into indie, punk, good emo. Twee music rocks.

Thanks. You're awesome.

Bands that are still together and ALIVE? That's a tough one..

Elliott Smith (he's actually dead tho, bummer)
Against Me! (punk at its finest, if you ask me)
Spoon
Devendra Banhart
The Mountain Goats

Those are pretty well known actually.. but maybe you haven't heard of them? =)

Get some! They are goood.

Aren't they signing to a major now? Isn't that like anti-punx? =-O

I previewed them on iTunes, but never went beyond that.

If you're into indie of any sort, you gotta get The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips and The Moon and Antarctica by Modest Mouse (my favorite all-time album).

And, of course, Turn On The Bright Lights by Interpol (my favorite album currently).

All three of these are complete gold from start to finish, and the bands are still around and putting out respectable works.

I'd recommend:
Bear Vs. Shark
The New Pornographers
The Academy Is...
The Spill Canvas
Mae
if you want something kinda weird but still awesome, The Fall of Troy

Anyway, thank you all for your suggestions! I've heard of most, but I've never pursued them, but now I'll be sure to!

Thanks.
