I LOVE threads like this! Point in case:

By the way I found CRTs really to be throwing alot of signal distortion at my poor shielded ICs, so I got an LCD and it works great. Just another reason to get LCD - achieve blackness in your audio signal!

My IC's and external soundcard are to the far right of the desk behind the LCD in the little cubbyhole.

I dont hear any bad JuJu in the headphones comming from the crt's
Plus the trinitron CRT has a huge thick sheild on the inside to lower interference comming from the monitor (and going into it).

Not going to buy LCD's all around, dont have $1,400 to spare to get 2 more of the dells that I got

Although very pretty, LCD's are still not quite up to par for hardcore gaming.

Plus, CRT's are a bit cheaper.... I guess im a bit old school about monitors (Anyone have a few thousand laying around to buy a sony fw900 24 inch widescreen or sony f520 21 inch for me?. If you only have $700, a Mitsubishi 2070sb would be nice as well. Thanks.

Well, most are cheaper, at least......

Cheers,

That's like saying you better upgrade those ancient tube amps to high end Solid State.

Absolutely. I can't stand LCDs, I don't know why. Give me a nice big CRT and I'm happy

Monster Power HTS3600

My dell 2001FP is actually quite kickass for gaming. I bring that one to Lan parties. Its on par with my CRT's gamewise. The only drawback is they are 3 times as much.

I got my 21" trinitrons for only $240 shipped

I used to love my old Iiyama VMP450 19" CRT running at 1920x1440...

...Those were the days...

These days i'm stuck with my LG1710S TFT... not bad I guess, just a shame its impossible to achieve true-black, and that i'm tied down to a max resolution of 1280x1024...

Maybe my faith will be restored with flat panel stuff when OLED goes mainstream... who knows...
