I spend hours listening to the songs of my youth. To me they sparkle like precious gems. Most of head-fi would wonder at my sanity. Never be ashamed, it takes too much energy.

The songs of your youth are great especially the 60s. Dusty Springfield is one great female singer.

While I dislike Rihanna entirely and completely, I understand the being ashamed to like something. I'm From Barcelona's "We're From Barcelona". Its such a good song, but makes some people who hear me listening to it question my sanity.

Why i feel ashamed is because i know there are people who think such music are trash, meaningless, commercialised crap but i admit that i do enjoy them for short period of time only.

I like it, i think the drumbeat is great. I know it wasnt intended as such, but if you listen to it as a song of ironic hate it makes more sense. Rihanna sounds incredibly cold on everything she does.

Its been covered by quite a few people already as well.

I've tried the remixed(UK) versions of her new songs before I've tried the official(US) versions and I have to say the remixed versions are hands down the best. They feel more natural to me and feels more like the songs were wrote with trance in mind.

If you're really into the original version of "Umbrella" than don't be ashamed of listening to it because I can definitely say it's way better than listening to some trash emo bands.

It's a catchy song, have you listened to the Mandy Moore version?

I agree that it's catchy. Sometimes a song just grabs you...whether or not you're proud of it.

It's defiantly mindless poppy trash, but it's catchy and I always turn it up if I happen to catch it on the radio. I don't see a reason to be ashamed at liking a song like that. It's good at what it's supposed to be good at, which is sounding catchy and being entertaining for a short period of time.
