A few of you might remember my long-winded rant a few months ago about how marginal of an improvement my HD580 were from my hd485.
after a few hundred hours I can comfortably say that I was WRONG!
nothing is more awesome than listening to Neil Young's "Old Man" off Live as Massey Hall and hearing someone coughing up phlegm in the left channel...lol.
I think my expectations when I got the headphones were way too high. I expected it to revolutionize all my music. This is not how it works. This is almost always limited by the recording. A good set of cans and a good dac/amp will not bring out what isn't there...
However, switching back to my hd485 (which I originally planned to use at night) isn't even a feasible option anymore. I love my HD580 and I love how natural and balanced they sound. I could stand another layer of clarity on the highs and mids though
