Ive got a York EF1200 electronic air cleaner, lately its been making a lot of what im assuming are static discharges, a month ago it was like once per cycle my hvac comes on, now its faster like a taser...can anyone explain this phenomenon? or have a solution to it? Thanks

Try cleaning it. Sometimes if the grime builds up on the metal filter wires and especially if something long like a large piece of lint gets on there, it starts arching continuously.

I had an electronic aircleaner added to a furnace years ago but the ozone it produced gave me severe headaches. It doesn't bother you?
