i went to Barnes and Noble with my daughter this morning and read through the article over muffins and juice. some noteworthy HPs include K240, DT150/250, DT770/880Pro, K702, HD600/650/800. it's worth checking out if only to read how the "professionals" hear.

Yeah I bought that issue just for the headphone comparison, they really liked the HD650's.

I saw that issue at Barnes too. Was surprised to see how much they liked the HD650 for mixing purposes. They also weren't very enthused about the HD800, especially for the price.

I was surprised that the hd650 came out on top too. FWIR most people find the hd600 to be more balanced/neutral. I wonder if they tested the hps brand new out of the box or burned in. They also gave very high marks to the dt880 pro...250ohms. The k701 got high marks, but one reviewer found it a little 'toppy'... I think the word he used for too much highs. For closed phones the mdr 7509hd came out on top...another surprise. You don't read much about that one here.
