OK, the computer mag I read isnt put together by Head-Fiers, but when the reviewer tells me the speakers are too 'bass-light' and the HP out too 'bass-heavy' (!), then goes on to claim that the HK speakers on the cheapie NB550D are 'excellent', I put down the magazine. Can this be happening ? How could you HP - lumping us with a thinly-clad marketing exercise like this and claiming its the notebook for music makers and consumers alike .....

Is there no end to this Beats ripoff ?

Is Head-Fi becoming Facebook now?

I never really cared much for the Beats, right from when they were announced. But as a marketing ploy, it's definitely a resounding success. Add some bass, a 'b' logo, then market it to consumers. What do you get? Profit. And a lot of annoyed Head-Fiers.
