I plan to get a DAC pretty soon. I want to use the Transit as my digital out. In the mean time I would hook up my Transit to my amp directly. Is Transit a good digital out? How would you rate the DAC built-in the Transit?

If by Micro, you mean Headroom MicroDAC, you don't want to use the transit with it at all. You will get better performance and less cable tangle by using the USB port on the MicroDAC directly.

i also don't see much point in hooking the micro up to a transit when the micro has a USB input.

Oh, I only have the Micro Amp. I don't have the DAC...

I thought the MicroDAC's usb input only allows for 16/44 whereas the Transit can output higher through its digital output?

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question, based on you phrasing I thought you were considering the microdac and asking about that
