How well does your high-end full sized can stand up to loudspeakers?

Actually for the price, headphones are much better for sound /quality/, but speakers have what I'd call the total package. Then again, you can pay 10x more for speakers than headphones, which makes sense in some situations but not all. I love my headphones, but I just happen to love my Polks a (good) bit more.

I prefer my K701 over my home stereo for its jaw dropping stereo imaging, instrument separation, resolution of detail and timing. My Wharfedale Diamond on the other hand has a slightly more natural tonality in the midrange and better treble extension. Bass .... well its the K701 again! The speakers impress with more slam and force, but the AKG makes up by displaying superior definition and goes lower, missing some of the impact. And I always prefer quality over quantity.
