How to wire a Neutrik Mini-Plug

Stupid question, I know

My plugs didn't come with a schematic and I can't find one online.

I need to know which is Left, Right, and Ground. Actually more like L & R, The ground I'm pretty sure is the large, outermost terminal.

"Right is ring" and ground connects to the shell (thus is on the other end from the tip) Thus the tip is left. The centre contact must thus go to the tip (left), the next one to the ring (right) and the long connector with the strain relief to ground

which is strange. my jacks are backwards from that. using the shorter terminal, there is continuity from the middle ring to the shorter terminal.

When looking at the back of the plug, you usually see a stud in the middle, this is always the tip, and may have the shortest or next shortest connection onto it. There will then be slightly nearert the outside, a connectionsitting between some plastic insulation that is the ring. THe last is the shield. This is due to the fact that to reach the tip, the wire must run the length of the plug and thus has to sit in the middle
