I live in Canada and so my DVD player is one that can only view North American DVDs. I have also set my laptop DVD rom to view the same region DVDs.


Since listening to Muse though I really want to get their live DVDs, but they are only available in UK's region code. What are some ways I can get around this?

How much would a new DVD player that can view that zone be? Any other ways?

Several options:

1. Multi-region player
Check for dvd players which are already multi-region enabled so you can play dvd from any region.

2. Set your DVD to multi-region
Some can be set to multi-region by a set of remote control commands - search for mutli-region and your DVD player model in google.

3. Use multi-region software on your PC
Some dvd players can have the firmware flashed so the region can be changed as many times as you want. There is also software which sets the region without using the limited number of times the dvd accepts region changes.

A google on 'multi-region set dvd' will give you lot's of info.

If you do decide to get a new multi-region DVD player, I remember seeing some reasonably priced ones on amazon.co.uk --but that was about 1 year ago.
