I just bought a pair of Ultrasone HFI-780's, but the cable is 3 meters and I was hoping to shorten it a bit. I know I could just use a cable wrap, but what are my options as far as actually shortening the cable? It's not detachable, right? so how can I shorten it? Thanks

The stock cable is enameled, so you'll have to heat/burn off the enamel before soldering.

I had no problems at all with using a rubber band to hold a 3 meter cable. I highly recommend not doing it if you can live without shortening the cable. What's the saying... if it works don't do it?

Stock cables are a pain to deal with, unless you are willing to recable. (IMO)

I'd suggest a Switchcraft plug and some heatshrink to make it fit.
I mean, a Neutrik 3,5 right angled just damages too fast, you'l get a black-ish/metalic look that isn't nice to look at..
Besides, those Switchcrafts are as tough as they come.
