Hi!
My battery on my Carbon died, I got another one and now I need to replace it. I would be really grateful if somebody described how to dismantle unit and replace battery. The best would be if somebody provided some link to guide with photos if there is any.
Thanks

google search - take apart rio carbon

I'm pretty sure I've seen a website re: step-by-step instructions for taking it apart w/pics. BTW, where'd you get the battery?

Good luck with that - Rio Karma replacement batteries essentially = nonexistent. you'd have to make your own from what I was able to find/research.

bummer!

hmmm, am I seeing a RiO_Mod in my future?
Let's see, Hammond enclosure, 250GB, 72 hour battery life, built in PINT

Why not trying to add a DAC inside as well. I am interested.

If you ever get somewhere with the plans and design, let me know.

Maoci,
Let us know from where did you get the battery. And once you find the instructions let us know the link as well. Thanks!

I bought this carbon recently (used) from eBay seller and it had weak battery. I would return it, but I found out it too late so I asked him to send me spare battery.
The link which describes how to dismantle unit is: http://www.greghughes.net/rant/Perma...3260040f1.aspx
But like guy says there, he broke some clips doing it so I don't know if this is the right way to open the unit. If anybody has experience I would be grateful to read some comments
