Hey guys, wasn't sure where to post this. I'm new to FLAC and was wondering if there was a program like iTunes where I can put all of my FLAC files into one library with the album art? Any help if appreciated.

Try programs like  Winamp, Foobar, or MediaMonkey. Of course you would have to fetch the album art yourself if you haven't already. I don't believe either of those programs do it for you, unless you download an extension to do so.

I am on Mac OS and use "Audirvana+" to put and read FLAC files in my iTunes library. It works pretty well and can convert files in ALAC so you can read them in itunes with or without the software. The problem is that this solution is not free (74$), but this is not the only feature of this software.

I'm interested too.
With foobar, mediamonkey or winamp can you also cut a single ape file (that comes with a cue) and convert it to flac before tagging it?

Foobar 2000 is the best audio player I've come across. Very customisable, easy to adjust tags inside the programme, supports multiple genres and best of all (for anal people like me that have a meticulously organised file/folder structure set up) lets you browse by folders. It's free too.

There is certainly other programs that can be used to do this. I've never dealt with .ape files because I download all my files in FLAC, but I use Bigasoft Audio Converter to convert all my FLAC to ALAC so I can use them with iTunes for my iPhone. I keep all the FLACS in tact and just use them with Winamp on my PC. I know for sure that this program can also convert .ape files in batch to FLAC as well.

Thank you, I'll wait for other advices as well though since I'd rather go with freeware.
Actually, if there is a good shareware program that does what I asked, I'd be ok with buying it. Must be worth it though :)

quodlibet is an open source solution for flac library building and tagging
http://code.google.com/p/quodlibet/
with a good player GUI to boot.

I am using it to index my collection (750 albums, 250GB) and so far it has been very, very, useful. Can read tags from mp3, ogg and flac files, build tags based on filenames, or vv have a common file naming scheme based on tags. It has the most user friendly tag editor I have seen so far. Only minus I can think of is that there is very limited integration with album art and lyrics databases, meaning you have to obtain and provide those by hand.

Thank you! Is poweramp available for windows?

Also, is there any pre equalizer settings on foobar like iTunes has?  I found the Equalizer, but can't find any choices to choose from.

Thanks

Yes, dBpoweramp is for Windows. I use it every day for all my ripping and converting:

I don't know of any stock presets for the equalizer in Foobar. Just open the equalizer and make any adjustments you want to make, then click save and name the preset. Then you can create different equalizer presets and save each new one with a new name. I created a folder I named "Foobar EQ Presets," and I store all of mine in that folder. You can create as many custom equalizers as you wish. I have different custom EQ presets for different headphones, for 2.0 speakers, for 2.1 speakers, etc. Just click "Load preset" and navigate to your folder of stored custom presets and select the one you want. It's great because you can have custom equalizer presets ready-to-go for different gear or different music or whatever. I didn't find any pre-made equalizer presets, I just created a series of my own custom ones specifically tailored to my gear and my preferences.
