Is there anything that would cost a bit more but do both my mic and Headphones but give better results on the headphones?

E-MU 0404 USB. I'm not sure if the $50 off coupon at Guitar Center still applies, which would make it $150. Normally, it's $200, and at that price, you can't do any better for mic preamps + headphone amplification + DAC. Its internal DAC will probably even best your X-Fi.

It can also be used as a standalone DAC + amp without a computer, and has balanced speaker outputs and a monitor out knob in case you wanted to use it as a preamplifier for studio speakers or routed to a power amplifier to power passive speakers.

Sorry to bump an old topic... Question tho.

I just picked up a amp for my headphones, so now all i need is one for my microphone.

How and trough what outputs would i connect the ub502 back to my soundcard? I'm just using my microphone with it. I know the microphone connects directly to to the amp, but i dont know how to connect it to the MIC in on my soundcard.

Since you now have a separate headphone amplifier, you don't have to connect the sound card's line output to the mixer. Use the mixer's Main Out or Tape Out to connect back to your sound card. You may need a Y-cable, for example two 1/4" TS plugs to one 1/8" plug (example).
