When I look at my large mp3 collection, I want to be able to see in the details section when the file was created and modified. How do I lock that option in?

I know you can right click and select those two things, but how do I make it permamnent? Where do I go in Windows to make it most folders automatically are set to VIEW by detail, and also show the subjects in those details that I chose?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm no expert, but I think you have to change your folders' view mode to "remember individual folder settings." Otherwise, it tries to force all your folders to the same view.

An alternative is to select Tools>Folder Options>View>Advanced Settings>Remember each folder's view settings.

That allows different arrangements instead of imposing a global format.
