Ok so I have pico with DAC and I've recently been reading that pcdp produce really clear sound...here's my question.

What will sound better?

The best old school pcdp player with a CD I burned from FLAC...I use the line out into the Pico and then listen from the pico

or

I plug the Pico/DAC into my computer and just listen to FLAC.

Also, if the PCDP route is better, what would be the reason? Iassumed the DAC gets a digital signal from the computer and then amps the pure signal so shoudln't that be ideal? From what I can tell, would that mean the PCDP must have a much better DAC than the pico/predator in order for it to sound better while being amped?

The Pico/computer combination will sound better if you're using it's DAC. The Pico's USB DAC should tromp any pcdp's internal DAC.

The Pico DAC is fairly well respected. I've read in many places that not only will it be better than most portable cd player DACs, but there are several accounts of people preferring it to larger, more expensive desktop DACs.

The Pico DAC has been reported to be better sounding than Predator by many users. I would believe that the Predator DAC isn't far behind although I've never used it(just Pico).

Mine is. I actually prefer the Predator to the Pico.

I would bet on the DAC. It's much easier to manage collections through the PC, so that's a pro as well (minus the time it takes to rip, of course).
