My Alps 100k dual audio pot (piece of junk actually) has almost 3k ohm imbalance between the layers in all range!

Does anybody could give me an idea how to correct the problem without changing the pot?

I bought a crappy two channel pot once. The problem was the mismatch wasn't linear. I don't know how linear the mismatch is between the channels but you can try adding resistors in series and/or parallel to balance them. Personally I don't think it's worth the effort. Just buy a better pot.

Sorry no hard and fast answers. I just finished building an ESP DoZ headphone amp that sounds spectacular with my HD580's. Had the same pot problem, so for expedience I ended up building my own from a RS Dual 100K linear pot and a couple of 15K 1% resistors. It's perfect, it's inexpensive and sounds great!
