I am getting a Ref-3 converter and want to play some of my HD Tracks 24/96 FLAC downloads but the Ref-3 only accepts 16/48 max thru the USB input.
How would I convert these files and keep them lossless? I can make MP3's from my FLAC files thru Media Monkey but I am looking to keep them lossless and conversion to other lossless formats keeps them at 24/96.

You could activate a resampler during playback. That way you don't have to keep two copies of each file. I assume you want to keep the 24/96 files.

Although, I don't know if the process can be automated. You wouldn't want it to resample 44.1 khz files too.

Foobar--> Right click any file(s)--> Convert--> 3 tabs (Output, Processing, Other)...Output- you can save as wav, flac etc.....Processing- DSP (PPHS) and configure...Other- Configure output bit depth..

Once it's all set up set it as a preset and then load it from there on...

But, I thought the problem was that you can't send it as 24/96 over USB.

I believe it's the USB receiver chip that can't accept the 24/96, not that I can't get 24/96 to that point. The question is, does the receiver chip downconvert and play the music or is there no sound with 24/96?

This worked, thanks. Only problem is it loses title info but it's 16/48 (or 44.1 if needed).
Edit:I had it set to WAV output, changed to FLAC and titles are retained.

The Ref3 will downsample it, but I'll add you could download audacity for free and convert it.

When you are in the first tab (output) look down to "output files" and you can change the name scheme....
