It seems that the Cardas cable for Sennheisers has a 1/4" connection. I assume an adapter would bottleneck me. Is this true? And if so, is there a valid solution to this?

An adaptor would have minimal effect on the signal. The Grado adaptor is good and cheap. But then you would be mixing Grado and Sennheiser and the world would soon blow up in 5 seconds.

Your options:
1) Bite and use an adapter and smile anyway.
2) Reterminate the Cardas with a 1/8" plug (or use another cable with this plug size).
3) Use another amp.

Any more confirmations that the Grado adapter wouldn't change the signal much? If not, sounds good to me

edit: If only using another amp was an option. I'd love to have more amps but can only afford this wonderful little Hornet

I use the adapter from Sennheiser some time without any problem or complaint. And considering it's even cheaper than the Grado adapter...

My vote goes to the Grado adaptor. I prefer it to the Sennheiser one.

I use my Grado adapter all the time -- better than anything else I've used.
