So after spending a number of months of pain with my 595s (they were buzzing on low frequencies) I decided to get fed up with it and open them up and low and behold I find a piece of hair under the plastic that protects the driver...how did that get in there through the meshes?  Of course I removed it (CAREFULLY) and now they sound like new again

The world may never know. Same thing happened with my 580s. I didn't even remove it, it just fell out or something because it quit rattling.

At first I thought the title said how did hair get into my "dryer" lol

Not sure in your case. However, I recently became interested in surgical ear covers I've seen popping up with audio trade vendors. So, when they have a few listening stations set up, several different attendees can listen to the cans without worry; do not affect the sound of headphones at all.

So next time I hit the road for a meet or mini-meet... armed and ready!
