I never actually use the box; it just sits on the shelf. The RS-1's, on the other hand, see daily use.

Wow, the original RS-1 engraved wood box looks amazing. I wish they had continued with the wooden box with the RS-1's. To me it just adds a touch of class to their flagship cans.

Everyone loves the box, very true. I paid $100 for it as my own RS-1's didnt' come with it. I tracked one down though which took me years.

That said, when I received it, I was underwhelmed. The wood is thin, the implementation was shoddy and frankly my $100 would have been better spent elsewhere. HOWEVER! I am a completist and dang, I so wanted it! I think John did the right thing in providing the adapter and extension cable instead, mind you, the box as an option would be way cool.

I don't think the box is that cheap. The finger joints look kinda stupid though, they should have had something like a miter cut for the joint.

That is called half-dovetail joint.

Yeah I am sure you were underwhelmed. Like Ps-1 pizza box underwhelmed....
