After getting a new SACD player I decided to buy more discs than usual to quickly increase my hi-res collection. I buy about 15-20 CDs a year but that number will rise to about 50-100 discs this year for my SACD collection. Which lead me to wonder how much discs (CD, SACD, DVDA, Vinyl) other Head-Fiers buy.

I've recently been buying used only, mostly off eBay, but some from a couple local stores. I love it. $10 will net you a new CD, and not a drop of your money goes to the RIAA.

Anyway, I voted 6-10. It may be a bit higher this year, but I think that was about accurate for last year.

This year, with the addition of the universal player I will have to say 21-50. Normally it would average out to about 10.

Be sure to give us a heads up for next sale. Years ago Amazon was sending me coupons like spend over $100 and get 20% off type of deals. Which I took advantage of for about 2 years but after ignoring more coupons, it stopped.

Anyone still get those type of coupons at Amazon anymore?

It goes in waves, I might only buy 10 - 30 records in a year and then I will buy 50 in a month. It just really depends what the local market is like. Sometimes I will go to Lou's records in Encinitas, CA and they won't have anything (well much of anything) I want and then they will have 100's of things. I am sure you all know how that goes.

I buy CDs on and off so probably about 10 a years recently... Few years ago when I still play the piano it can be about 30+ CDs a year for pieces I'm currently working on for solo competitions.

I have 1000+ CDs and a stack of vinyl gathering dust in storage. I rarely have the time to listen to what I already have, so I haven't bought very much music recently. Maybe 2-3 CDs per year for the last five years.
