I have tinitus (from shotting, which I don't do anymore), though it hasn't really effected my hearing much (aside from a few fequencies). In fact it's been a bleasing in disguise as it has had me start looking after my ear.

I have tinnitus from shooting, traffic, noise at work, headphones, lots of things. Now, I almost never leave home without a pair of good dB-reducing ear plugs in my shirt pocket. They're condoms for the ears. No crude jokes, please...

Recently I was playing in percussion for school band during a piece that was ridiculously loud. After, my right ear was ringing. It's been ringing for about a week now, it might be permanent =\ Fortunately it's only loud enough to hear when I am trying to sleep, and even then it can be avoided if I just fill my mind with random thoughts.

What you do in life come and goes, but hearing loss/damage is cumulative and permanent. Go out and get some ear plugs - do it today. Short of custom-molded silicones, the foam types that roll to make small, and then expand, are the best. Some can reduce SPL by 30 dB.

I probably have a small amount of damage just from going to lots of rock shows, but most of the ones that are so loud I wear ear-plugs. Most of the shows where it is not just rock the sound is not nearly as lound. At 23 I my ranges is about 30hz-16~17khz so I think thats pretty good

I blasted my eardrums a bit with the headphones when I was younger, I stopped doing it now but I get that little noise when it's quiet. I learned that it's basically the hair in your ears falling off and also the ringing replaces certain frequencies you used to hear. I think I probably has a tiny amount of tinitis as a child to begin with.

I'm trying to stop cleaning my ears, but it's a habit now. My ears are wax free which is a very bad thing.

I said "condoms" - that's as in "Sold for the prevention of disease only."

I have had tinnitus for about a year and a half now as a result of a really bad ear infection I got when I was down in Oklahoma City.

I have a little bit of damage. I have faint ringing that I can hear when it's completely silent. I've been to a few concerts and clubs where my ears have been blocked/ringing for a few days afterwards and I'm sure they would have caused damage, but it's probably also from playing percussion in concert band, stage band and orchestras since I was 8. Playing in orchestra would probably be the worst out of those as some of the pieces we have done in the past are pretty damn loud, especially if it's a symphony with full percussion section (7 players) and doubled brass sections

I now have earplugs to wear in orchestra when it's particularly loud and at concerts. I wore them when I saw NIN at Soundwave this year and came out with no ringing at all. Seeing Dream Theater last year was a different story, I stupidly didn't have earplugs and was in the mosh, first row, right in front of John Petrucci's array of guitar amps. Not smart. Took about a week for the ringing to go away.

I'm going through a bad time currently.

there's a ear inflection on my right ear for a month now and I going to see EMT specialist (Transfering) soon. But I delayed medical care due to heavy school workload. First, It was seems to get well very soon. But It never seem to go away with only treatment of antibiotics. It doesn't seem to damage my ears, at least I hope.
But there is imbalance in frequency on the inflected one, it is more sensetive.

It is very sad with this happening and heavy workload. it affects your productivity.

Wish me luck.
