I have 51 out of the top 100, many are my original vinyl albums. I would like to pick up a few more, however.

I maybe have 10 of the top 100

And I do not like the list, it seems more to be a popularity contest than greatest music list.

16 of the top 100
2 of 101-200
6 of 201-300
9 of 301-400
5 of 401-500

total: 38 (8%)

and, as always, a lot of that list was crap. Too many teenagers and Stones/Beatles groupies voting.

The list may be "crap," but it was not a list arrived at by having the general public vote. I have the issue in question (Issue #937, December 11, 2003) in front of me, and the voters (approximately 200) consisted solely of musicians, writers, critics, editors, producers, record execs, and broadcasters. According to RS, "The ballots were scored by the accounting firm of Ernst and Young and overseen by the Rolling Stone editors. We assigned 100 points for each first place vote, 50 points for each second-place vote, 33 1/3 points for each third-place vote, and son on, down to 2 points for each fiftieth place vote. We then ranked albums appearing on at least five ballots."

I just counted eight of the top one hundred, but I remember looking at it a while ago and I know that I have quite a few of the next four hundred.

One thing that I remember surprising me was that they rated The Chronic above Straight Outta Compton. I find Straight Outta Compton to be much better both musically and lyrically.

And I would place most of Bob Dylan's stuff higher on the list.
