Price doesn't always mean performance at all......Bose is the #1 example.

I'm betting they make so many models of headphones because they can make them sound all different and the sound is heard slightly different from everyone. They just give you choices. Personally, I don't think $500 or more for headphones makes any sense looking at what's available at $400 and below.....but if I had the money, it would be nice bragging rights that's for sure.

Price/Performance is not realistic in audio, 'cause its an art, not science. You can't put a piece of art on a scale and tell how much it's worth.
