The D2000 are one headphone that will make you a believer in headphone burn-in. Give them a good listen now so you'll be able to hear that there is a real difference when they get burn-in.
For me, to my ears, things were settled by 40 hours. There may be changes after that but I'm not a critical enough listener to notice. Even if I did notice changes after that my auditory memory isn't good enough and I'd likely just end up fooling myself.
I used alternating tracks of pink noise and Infected Mushroom for burn-in music.
at first D2000 was soo harsh and i didnt like it at all, after a while i borrowed it again from my College, and it was better, loses the harshness, but i still dont like it
also for burn-in people does it matter the source that u are playing when burn-in headphones? Like a proper amp would do a better job than just an iPod?
