I've just got a new Gumby and up next is a new headphone amp pairing. The Mjolnir 2 is an obvious option since that Schiit matches. But how good of an amp is the Mjolnir really as compared to other amps in that price range? I don't absolutely neeeed it to match (though it would be nice).

I have LCD-2s and plan to upgrade in the future to LCD-3s. My headphone listening is usually quieter, downtempo music with acoustic instruments, standout male and female vocals, and mellow atmospherics. (e.g., Willie Nelson, Vangelis, Peter Gabriel, Norah Jones, Thievery Corporation, Bob Walsh, Jose Gonsalez).

Currently using my LCD-3's with an audio_gd NFB-28 and they seem to pair very well. The warmth of the 3's is offset by the neutrality of the audio_gd amp for a slightly warm but still natural sound. I'd look into the dacless version as a possible alternative for the mjolnir.
