How does the comfort of the K701 compare to that of the DT880?

I can't really speak for the DT880. But I'm really enjoying the 701s, they are pretty light. They are bigger than I thought, enough to cover my whole ear. No fatigue.

I'd say the comfort is comparable. The 701's are light, and the clamping pressure is about the same. The cushions are a tad bit harder but still super comfy, but the headband seems to feel a tad bit more hard on the top of my head.

I'd rate the 880 an "A" but 701 an "A-"

Now that I've had some extended listening sessions with the 701, I have to agree - and have to modify my rankings. Initially, the 701 felt more comfortable. But over time, I've noticed the pads are harder and the headband is more present than 880.

My original ranking was:
1 - 701
2 - 880
3 - 650

Now with some hours,

1 - 880
2 - 701
3 - 650

The 880 is one comfy headphone.

I don't think any headphone is as comfy as an 880. The 770 was nice, but not nearly that nice feeling.

Well, I'm not too worried about feeling the presence of the headband. I keep a semi-military style haircut, which is very sensitive to any form of contact--so I'll be feeling the headband of any headphone, no matter what. And if the pads are anything like the HD595, I'll be fine with the K701. My biggest concern is the clamping force. Thanks.

The K701's have a better grip than the DT880's, but when it comes down to the most comfortable, I have to give the nod to the 880!
