If you use the analog out, it is a completely different matter. But if you only use the digital out, there is no reason to swap A2 to another card.

The digital out of the AV710 doesn't resample. At least not when flashed.

I've heard conflicting information, however, I do love the Prodigy drivers.

Simply put, no matter what anyone here says, I heard a difference between resampling to 48 khz with the Audigy and bit-perfect out with AV-710. No one is going to tell me what I did or didn't hear or how I percieve a sound. I'm simply posting my opinion and people can go ahead and prove their ignorance by telling me that I didn't hear, what I consider, a dramatic change. Well, I did. I considered it dramatic. Especially for $30. Thus, I posted my OPINION and ADVICE in this thread. If someone wants to counter my advice with something else, then by all means please do. However, don't presume to think that you (maarek99) can tell me that it wasn't a dramatic change. Everyone's equipment is different, as I'm sure you are aware.

I'm going to leave this thread alone now and simply move on. I have given my opinion and maarek99 and I have pretty much ruined a thread that was asking for advice. I apologize to sghoughton for this.

Well say it then. I really thought you were talking about using analog on the A2 and digital on av710 and comparing those is ain't right.

This is what you said:

Do NOT use analog out to the reciever.

The jump from analog out of the Audigy using 48 khz resampler to the analog out of the Chaintech was what I would call a "dramatic" change for only $30.

And now you're just being a martyr. Good luck with that.

KyPen, you might be right about bad Audigy digital output. I've read that the older drivers are bad. If you used newer drivers, or especially the PAX 2005 modded drivers then you would be very hard pressed to hear a difference from the SPDIF signal
