What are the restrictions for the gif file to be seen as moving after you upload the file??

I have tried downsizing the images to 50x50 pixels, 75x75 pixels, 100x100 pixels and the gif is less than 10kb and it still doesn't work.

Please help me guys.

I read somewhere that moving gifs are banned as avatars. Obviously there are still some around, but maybe they can't be uploaded anymore?

Last I checked, they're no longer allowed. Current ones were grandfathered in from the before time.

It's also annoying as hell.

IIRC, there have been some relaxations of the rules occasionally, to allow avatars with 'subtle' movement, but clamp down on those with distracting/epilepsy-inducing flashing.

Mine has been constant for some while, I can't remember when I made it.
