When you store your IEMS often you have to wrap them and put them in a case.

When you take them out again they are curled.

How do you straighten them?

It depends on the cable. Some of them don't leave any of that memory from how it was coiled like my CK10. For others I would just leave it straight for a while. It usually isn't too bad unless I leave something coiled in a case for weeks at a time

That might work for cables designed for home use, but portable IEM cables are often thin and about 3-4ft in length. Pockets are a sure way for kinks and coils

Did you watch the video for earphone wire?

I use that technique but wrapping around either 3 or 4 fingers of my right hand as a guide. It works great! (and I have TF10s, not exactly known for a great cable)

My thinking was they were coiling maybe because of the way that they were coiled when not being worn.  My UM3x do not coil.  The memory had to come from somewhere.  How is the cord going to learn?

The guy in the video says it is because someone gave the wire the memory to coil.  Could that be the cause of the coiling?

Can you hang them up for a while and see if they stop coiling?
