I'm looking into getting one. I just can't stand the Zen Micro's battery life, my bro is getting the same battery life. 6 hours, I've discharged, charged 12 hours like LOTS of times.

Since it has no real physical switch or button to place it on hold...I'm assuming there is a way like on a cell phone.

How would you do it, is it easy?

main menu -> settings -> lock mode

Carbon's "lock mode" allows the user to customize what buttons are locked--whether to lock the volume, center, and d-pad during "lock mode" or not.

I don't use the lock mode, but I don't think it's terribly difficult to do. The freebie carrying case is a way to keep your Carbon's buttons from being pressed if you prefer a physical solution. It's really stiff.

It indeed works just like a cellphone, hold menu button, then press center. Easy as that...

Good thing is you can make the lock function work for different buttons, so if you want to leave the scroll-wheel (volume +/-) unlocked, that is possible!
