I just replaced a pair active desktop speakers that were fine https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/d/philadelphia-swans-m200mkii-powered/7213697822.html with an amp https://www.head-fi.org/threads/replacement-cap-for-pushbutton-on-music-hall-amp.945001/ and speakers http://assets.klipsch.com/product-specsheets/R-15M-Spec-Sheet.pdf combination that sounds better.

And I thought: what if this better, which is fine, is not good enough. Before I had even spent a couple of hours with my new speakers, I was already looking for new speakers. The new combination is way better, yet.

Should I give myself a yearly enrollment window, like with my health insurance. How do you enjoy what you already have?

There's no way I'm afraid. Short of deleting your headfi account, removing internet access, cancelling your credit card and going to mediate in some Himalayian monastery.

I've been trying to escape this audio rabbit hole for almost 20 years without success and I have come to realize this profound truth:

Follow basic rule- never do sidegrades or small incremental upgrade.
If you have budget then don't even get caught in midfi lineup. Jump to top of the line and get peace of mind. However if you don't have budget then get some good budget set up for the price and save up and don't waste money on sidegrade till you are ready for significant top of the line upgrade.

If you are afraid that you're unhealthily addicted, step away from head fi and just enjoy what you have.

Reading here will always ignite more curiosity and targets that are way more expensive.

At the beginning of the year I was aiming for a Schiit Gungnir + Mjölnir 2 stack for my Hifiman Arya.
As of now this turned into an Meze Empyrean on a Cayin Ha-6a + Rockna Wavelight.
While I can proudly say that I reached my endgame and there is nothing on the current market that I want. The spending won't end.
There are tubes to roll, cables to improve upon - the finishing touch so to say.

So how do I enjoy it?
I think it’s audio heaven, basically perfect.

Since I also sold ALL of my old Equipment of the last 8 years, I had to invest "only" 4 grand to get here. Nonetheless this is about double of what I initially intended, without selling anything.
