How do you clean your ear bud after someone else has used it?

How about isopropyl alcohol?

I can second isopropyl alcohol as my all purpose cleaner for everything. If you get something with a high purity (probably from a hardware store) it cleans almost everything and leaves no residue or smell. 
 
I usually just wipe them on a tissue though and then rub the fibres off with my fingers, and never lend my earbuds to anyone whose ears are too waxy. (Yes, I look first much to everyone's embarrassment.)
