I have an Alps or something, cost about $15 to buy, wich im going to put in my DIY amp. Now my question, as my schematics have no info on how to connect the pot, how do I connect it?

Thats about how the pins are and as I have understood that they are to be connected. So, what am I going to wire to these things? I know the output tubes of the amps should go to one of the respective channels, and that the RCA's should be connected to it too, but then what? Please give me a GOOD explanation, and perhaps with some pictures to describe it a bit better. And correct anything I've understood wrong.

Cheers, Mindless.

Scroll down to where it describes the pinouts of various pots. The Alps Blue has the same pinout as the Noble and Clarostat ones. One row of 3 pins is for one channel, next row, obviously for the other channel. Looking from the shaft-end, ground, wiper, input.

Hope that helps. This is the second time in two days I post how to wire pots. Hmmm...

Also for future reference, the Head-Fi search facility is effective and useful. You'll find answers faster this way-- don't rely on everyone else to do the work for you.

I think such a FAQ should consist of:

Wondering how to change the gain of your DIY amp? Wondering how to wire a pot? Wondering where to get parts? Wondering what kind of solder to use? Etc, etc?

USE THE SEARCH!

Even that would greatly cut back on the vast majority of questions that are really basic...
