I would love to be able to post using signs for...

--Euro.
--Great Britain Pound.
--Japanese Yen.
--degrees in Centigrade (that tiny "o").
--Ohm.
--double "s" in German.
--the two dots above an "o".
--accents in foreign languages.

How do I do this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

€Ω®Ω®£ØΨ They won't all show here. Like this sign ♫. It is supposed to be beamed eighth notes.

Oh, thanks for asking the question and thanks for the answer. I didn't know how to do this either.

The ASCII symbols can also be entered by using the alt key and a number sequence from the number pad only. Once you learn the numbers of your favorites it is a lot quicker than using the character map. They might not all show up but here are some:

I did a right button search, and I found the Chracter Map in: Documents and Settings. I will continue studying it in order to use it! I will also try the shortcut with ALT + a number. Thanks to ALL of you for helping me out!!!

My PC...
BTW, I have a Dell 8200 PC (1.75GHz) with Microsoft's XP Home Edition Operating System.

He, he! The "XP" name comes from eXPerience. Well, they should have made that Character Map more obvious and easy to get to. I guess they lacked some experience in the matter!

I've got a site that shows more symbols, but I can't use them.

http://www.1728.com/indexweb.htm

I still have problems....
If I try the "ALT + number" symbol way, I am not able to write symbols in this post. I mean, I press ALT plus the number and nothing happens. Any thoughts on this?

****EDIT****

I got it! As John said: The key is to use ALT + Number using the numbers pad to the right of the keyboard. Fantastic! Now all I need is a very complete list of symbols to use! Greeeeeeeeat!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Unicode...
I found this interesting site with Google. It's all about symbols and how to use them. Check it out...

I failed to mention something important. To use the "ALT + number" method, you must press the Num Lock (light comes on too). Then you can enter the numbers needed on the right numbers pad (calculator pad).

Here's the Ohm sign I wanted: Ù (ALT + 234).
Here's the Euro sign I wanted: € (ALT + 0128).
Here's the Pound sign I wanted: £ (ALT + 0163).

I still have a problem...
I am able to write the Ohm in the post, and I do get the Ohm sign. However, after I submit the post, I get this accented "U". Weird!
