Basically you will need an external DAC as well.
Assuming that you are using computer and does not have external DAC, the Schiit Modi is a real bargain for a USB DAC. You only need to plug the Modi to one of your USB port then there goes. Next get a RCA cable ready, you know the one with red and white, plug other end to your DAC and other end to the audio in on the Magni. Your headphone jack goes into the only hole in front of the Magni and you're set.

Or you might want to get a DAC/Amp combo

Thank you for the help.
It seems a amp/dac combo is way cheaper and i cant exactalley go over my budget.
is there any good budget amp/dac sugestoins you could give me perverablly no more than 70pounds.
portable or desktop i dont really care.

Ibasso D-Zero MkII for $120+shipping; not sure how much you'd pay in shipping and taxes though.

Well, check out Schiit Fulla then, I can't say what's it going for in UK, but it's going for about 70USD in the states. It's a DAC/amp combo....there's a thread about the Fulla in the Portable Amp section.

BTW, if you have your heart set on a Magni, it's still doable IF you have a soundcard/onboard audio which can act as a DAC.

Or maybe the famous FiiO E07K ? It's right at 70 pounds right now
BUT BE AWARE. I do not own this thing so I can't say anything about the quality at all.
You'll have to do research on this thing here, there's a lot, then make your own decision.

Hope you don't lose yooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrr waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy

I suppose what we need to know to be able to help you is what is your source? Is it that you have a cd player and amp, which doesn't have a headphone amp, or is it like others assume in that you have a computer and want to be able to use your dt990 with that?

If you don't have a headphone socket on your hifi amp, then yeah, the magni is the answer. On ebay uk is one for about £50. You would only need some phono leads to connect it up.

If you want to drive the headphones from a computer or smartphone, a fiio or the fulla would be options instead of the magni, I think.

Ultimately, to give the best advice, people here will need more info on what you use to play music.

The description says it's a headphone amplifier and USB DAC, which means it has the same function as the E07K.
You plug it into your PC and that's it.
But rejoice! It has also got coaxial out and line out. That means, using the line out you can bypass the amp section of the E10K to use with better amp like Magni (you need an RCA to 3.5 adapter for it tho) or the Objective 2.
The L9 is for Apple products actually. Not sure if you would use it but it's free.

People here are really helpful, I've been in their debt for several times as well.

And you might not really need to tweak around the windows, the DAC probably already has its driver inside so windows only need to install it by itself and voila.
At least my Aune T1 was that easy as that.

Btw make sure you get a clear return policy so that you can return your purchased item in case it doesn't work out well or you don't like it.
And I hope you enjoy your new toy later
