How do I make Windows XP recognise a non-USB DAC?

Hi guys,

I've been comparing a few DACs recently (all USB) and just got the Beresford Bushmaster (non-USB). I had no problems selecting the USB DACs in Windows Control Panel (I'm running Windows XP) but have absolutely no idea what option to select under "Sounds and Audio Devices" when it comes to this non-USB model. Under the Hardware tab I have the following options:

- SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio (if I tick "disable" to make space for the new DAC, it says "No audio device" in "Properties")

- several Audio/Video "codices", "devices" and "drivers" (I guess I leave them all "enabled")

I've connected a 3.5mm Mono jack plug to Single RCA Phono cable from the lime-green audio stereo output of my PC to the Coaxial (1) input of the Bushmaster but the Autoselect doesn't pick up on it.

I would imagine this is relatively easy to sort and I'm just too dumb to see it. So if someone can put me out of my misery...Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
