You know... that slightly medicinal whiff they arrive with. It's still lingering in the boxes but I'd like my pads to have it too!
Not thinking of sellling them off as new but if I don't find out what to use it means buying new cans

Put them back in the box (including the pads, of course) and leave it in there for a few days. The smell should then come back.

Find Joe Grado and rub them against him for some time, voila the grad smell will be back...

I didn't notice the smell on either of my sets of cans.

Bummer.

...and the foam in the Pizza Boxes smells like....just boring ol' foam.

I don't know but dosen't smells / odors disappear after a while if they are contained in an area where a different smell / odor is dominant? I mean, if you fart, the smell is gone within half a minute. Expect a closed compartment (your headphone box) to start smelling like your general enviroment after a couple of weeks. It happens to everything I buy from overseas, be it plastic models or CD's. At first, they smell 'foreign' but after a while, it's like they where mine all along.
