I have been wanting a means to play the multi-channel layer on my hybrid SACDs, so, perhaps, it was that desire which had kept me from being totally satisfied. Now having purchased an OPPO UDP-205 for multi-channel pleasure, I would like to say I'm finally satisfied; but, the other day, while using the player's DAC to enjoy some DOO WOP music in my iTunes Library, I heard such detail not heard before that I realized the recording studio's that produced these recordings way back then must have been pretty primitive, in that, with my new equipment, I could hear all sorts of defects that my earlier equipment could not reveal. What a problem, I have a really nice DAC now which I though would make the music richer only to discover it can also make poorly recorded music sound worse.
