How decent is your car audio system?

alpine 9813 head unit running to 300/4 and 500/1 jl amps to 6.5" component alpine type r speakers in the front, 6.5" coax type r speakers in the back and 2 12" kenwood woofers.

also got a dvd player/monitor where the dome light used to be and a monitor in the passenger visor.

in a honda element btw.

i like it.

Audison XL2R xo and LR 435 amp to a/d/s 325is front and 320 plate rear
Audison LR270SC amp to 2x RCF W300 subs

Wish I have more time and will power to install a pair of adcom 4304s (can't fit under seat =) and a/d/s a12s subs (mounting hole left by those rcf are just too large

Just running stock on my dad's xterra. Has an eq, which makes it pretty decent. I prefer it to our s**ty home stereo.

What car?

Not driving much at the moment. When I do, it's an old crappy '95 Subaru Legacy. The stereo sucks, and unless I start using it a lot more, I doubt I'll do anything about it.

I put a Kenwood Exceleon MP3 deck in my 96 Chrylser Sebring LXi. It's connected to the stock Infinity speaker system

I have a 76 Duster with a Kenwood casette deck, Pioneer component speakers in the doors and Infinity Kappas in the back deck with a couple amps and this sub woofer thingy. I don't remember much about it, I never drive that car.

Right now I just have an Alpine 9815 along with a 4-channel amp driving 4 Infinity 5x7's in my GT. I had subs in there but took them out for weight reduction purposes.

I do miss them at times, though.

I would like to put some nice components in the front, but my car's exhaust is pretty loud so there's not much point in trying to obtain superb SQ.

Subs I've had in the past:

2 x JL W3 15"

2 x Audiomobile MASS 12"
2 x Infinity Perfect 12"
2 x Alpine Type-R 12"
2 x Pioneer 10" IMPP (meh)
2 x Audio Art 12" (great sound for the money + lifetime warranty at the shop I bought them at)

LOL...when I was first getting into car audio and didn't know what the heck I was doing, I bought two Rockford Fosgate 18" subs from my friend. I thought bigger = better...I put one of those in the back of my car powered by a 600w Jensen (don't ask) and that sucker barely even moved...hahahahaha.

thats very cool. i really like the plexi mounts for those processors or xovers in the back.
it was built for iasca? have you competed yet? if so, how did you do?

The 2002 Subaru Outback H-6 VDC wagon came stock with a McIntosh soundsystem. Eleven speakers, 200 watt 5 channel amp CD based system sounds better than anything else I have heard coming stock on a vehicle. McIntosh required Subaru install additional sound damping to reduce ambient noise at cruise by 2dB. Very soothing sound system for long trips. I master my own redbook CDs on the Alesis Masterlink. The 1999 Nissan Maxima has the optional Bose sound system that is muddy and I don't see why anybody gets excited about Bose. The 1993 Honda CBR 600 F2 has sound system by Two Brothers Racing; that carbon can really knows how to wail!

Maybe because I have a Town Car which is inherently quiet, I'd disagree with this statement. Even with all the windows down and the sunroof open, I can easily drown out the noise with great and clean and pounding sound.

Again, the Tweeter guys helped me design a perfect system for my budget and my car.
