No one seems to have much to say about byerdyamics dt-250-80 headphones. Is it just that the senns and others are more popular on this site?

Really? Nobody talks about the DT250s? Coulda fooled me!

I haven't read many who prefer the HD280s over the DT250s, the thing is the DT250s cost significantly more. But if you're looking for some great closed cans that don't *require* an amp, the DT250s are one of the top pics.

Yup, there are and were a lot of recommendations for the DT250/80. Nevertheless, I still think the DT250/250 sounds quite a bit better - and the juicier portables shouldn't have a problem driving the DT250/250, either... So I'd recommend to compare, if you can.

Greetings from Munich!

The thing is...unless you have an average to small sized head, the 250's may be uncomfortable for you. I just had to return a pair I bought from headroom, just as they were starting to break-in and REALLY sound good! Alas, my melon is so titanic that the 250's simply clamped on me and were terribly uncomfortable. I couldn't physically stand to wear them longer than 15 minutes at a time.

Jlo, get the beyer 250's from steve's music store. They sell them for $215 Canadian, much cheaper then anywhere else I think.

The search button in the upper-right of every page... it's your friend

I just did a search for "Beyer and DT and 250" and limited it to just the headphones forum, and got almost 40 hits.

$215 CAN is still a lot....at least for an active out and about headphone....

if i do get the 250 or v6 i would be using them when im outside and around....losing a $120 headphone is better than losing a $215 headphone...

just get the v6. the v6 has better highs, i think, and i think it looks cooler, it folds up, it fits better (on me) and i think that it blocked out a tad bit more noise, but I could be wrong....

I find the V6 more comfortable than the DT250 once you put the pads from the 250 on the V6
(which adds $25 to the price). On the other hand, in terms of sound quality, the DT250 are much, much more enjoyable to listen to, IMO.
