how close sennheiser PX100 to HD595?

The HD595 are in a league far above the PX100. They are different headphones for different price points and different purposes.

The PX100 is widely recommended because its a good headphone for its price. Its quite versatile, is made to be used unamped, very portable, folds up, can be worn outdoors easily etc. And of course...it has good sound quality for its price.

HD595 is an audiophile headphone...entry level or mid-level sort of headphone depending on what kind of headphones you define as high end and low end. HD595 and HD555 are great headphones however, miles better than the PX100. Generally people say HD595 requires an amp to really shine.

So if you want a portable, beat around headphone to use outdoors which is good value for money to complement you HD595, then get a PX100. If you have no need for portability, then you will gain nothing with a PX100.

If you do want something portable though, look into IEM's. If you like the Sennheiser sound then IE7 and IE8 are good options, but far more expensive than PX100.

I've never listened to the 595s but for portable headphones the PX100s are nice. They come in a nice carrying case and fold up pretty easily for storage. Overall sound quality is pretty good out of a portable (no messing around with external amps etc. required).

I don't have any trouble recommending these headphones for portable use.
