So I have both the HRT microstreamer and the Hifimediy Sabre DAC, and I like the sound of the sabre dac more, because it is smoother and the mids are more forward than the Microstreamer.

But the problem is, is that the volume is VERY low of that dac. Does anybody know how I can get the volume louder, while remaining the same sound quality?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming your maxing out the volume controls on the Sabre?

Yes.

I'm getting a HE-400i in a few weeks, and the sound of the Sabre Dac would fit that headphone perfectly for my taste, but I know the volume is going to be lacking even at max volume, since I have one of the most sensitive IEMs (Ostry KC06) and even with those I need more than half the volume to get at a decent volume level.

I'm thinking your in need of a dedicated headphone amplifier.
