Many here claim that the modified Audigy drivers and the Kx provide higher sound quality. How on earth can drivers affect the sound quality as long as they arent sending DSP data to the hardware itself or doing it in teh software??

I agree that using the Kx on My Live! 4.1 CT4830 reduced the background hiss a lot,but thats because the original drivers were somehow over-voluming the output.Kx drivers are quiter in volume and hence dont suffer from the hissing.

Any information would be appreciated.

as far as the drivers pass the same data to the converters, they sure will all sound the same.. the problem is this is not the case with some drivers especially for Creative sou..ehm..cards

The only reason that i own or have owned Creative cards is because of the unavailability of other good cards in the United Arab Emirates,Dubai.

Other cards like the M-Audio and Chaintech are EXTREMELY hard to locate and theres no guarrenty that the same vendor will have the cards the next time around.

Not to mention that i dont work and spend my dads money.Full time student here.
