How big is your FLAC library?

Tracks: Approx. 3,000
Albums: 384
HDD: 43 Gb

Most of these were ripped from my CD's to FLAC compression level 6 using EAC. About 25% are 128kbs WAVs.

My HDD is a WD (Caviar, I think) 250Gb. I have it partitioned to 30GB for OS, 73 GB for Music, 37 GB User Space and 93 GB for video recording. I'm really going to need more drive space soon.

Few FLAC tracks around, since it is not my first choice of lossless audio codec...

FLAC/ALAC same thing krmathis. Even apple used the flac sourcecode to create ALAC.

Same and Similar are two different things.

To my knowledge FLAC and Apple Lossless is not interchangeable when it comes to hardware and software support. Hence not the same, although Apple may have borrowed code from FLAC.

I meant they share same code and work on a almost identical algorithm, just different compression and output. But you can put you ALAC here towards your number, I did.
