The dimension and thickness of the player are also important to its sound quality.

With very small size and thickness, it’s hard to embed high capacity battery, and it has very strict requirements to the heat dispersion of its DAC and OPAMP chips.

On the contrary, if the player adopts better DAC and OPAMP chips and set higher output power, then it requires bigger space to embed larger capacity battery. No doubt it will affect its portability and might be regarded as “brick”.

James, I don't understand why this thread is seperate from the weight thread. I presume it is for a seperate poll, but it makes things confusing

because we can choose plastic to control the weight.

Well, metal is certainly a nice luxury, but if a player is struggling to keep its weight down, then I would be prepared to compromise with plastic, as long as it is high-quality-grade plastic.

Polycarbonate It is a good choice.

I think that it is not a compromise.
Metal is cool. But wounds heavy stick. Cost is also high.
Polycarbonate is strong and light. Cost is low, too.
But care must be taken to the internal heat generation.
People use case is to block the wound due to friction, etc. There are many. (Siliconcase or leather case)
