How long should the battery last in the Hornet M amp? I am using the batterys that Ray supplied (white and yellow with 300 written on them). I tend to charge them in a seperate charger over night but the only seem to last between 6 - 10 hours maximum.

I Connect my amp to my 4G 20gb IPod with ALO Jumbo Cryo. It powers my Grado SR80 with the gain set on medium. Volume is on the very first marking at aprox 9 o'clock. Is 6 - 10 hours normal?

If so any ideas on how to increase the battery life? Also on a side note what can i use to plug the supplied charger into the mains in the UK (where i live) like a USA to UK travel plug.

Huh, and I have the Powerex 300. I timed it when burning it in so it was running full time. I haven't tried keeping track with shorter listening sessions though.

The 300 mAH PowerEx's are 8.4V. The PowerEx charger charges them to full with no problem. That said, I would stick with the charger supplied with the Hornet. I get about 8 hours fairly consistently with Sensaphonics 2X-S's (IEM's), Grado RS-1's, and Senn HD 650's, regardless of which charging method I use.

Thanks for your replies. I want to charge the batteries in the Hornet, but was worried i might damage the unit with difference in current. I am not sure what to plug the charger into so that it becomes the 3 pin 240v standard of the UK.

Is there such a thing as a USA to UK travel plug? I can get a UK to USA travel plug but this is 3 pin to 2 pin and i need it the other way.

I don't think that should be a problem, but i suggest you to e-mail or call Ray just in case ...

Yes, yes I also only get around those hours.

lithium polymer disposables are REALLY long lived, altho they cost around $5. Maybe less in quantity from Thomas Distributing. Use them in my Hornet as well as PowerX 300 9.6 volt. These seem to last longer than "standard" PowerX rechargeables

Crocandy, if you have the Cincon TR1512 charger it is 100-240 volts, OK for US and UK.
Just use a new, standard UK three pin to two pin shaver adapter plug, it will fit.
Each charge will last about 8 to 10 hours.
