What, exactly, would using an Etymotic "P" to "S" adaptor do to change the SQ of my Etymotic ER-4P IEM's? Or any other phone I might slap them on, for that matter?

Current set-up:
Source: iPod Classic
Amp: New model Total Airhead
Ears: Etymotic ER-4P, CX300
Considering getting: Sennheiser HD-555's or
comparably priced/styled Beyerdynamics.

Just curious.....

The adaptor puts a simple resistor between amp and headphone.

It will make the frequency response follow the impedance curve of the phone you connect it to.
